Online Returns Policy for Specialist Detailing Products

At Specialist Detailing Products, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. Our standard policy allows you to return items within 30 days of receiving your order, in accordance with your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act and the Fair Trading Act.

Return Eligibility

  • You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return.
  • To be eligible, items must be in the same condition that you received them — unused, unworn, with tags, and in their original packaging.
  • Proof of purchase (such as your receipt or order confirmation) must be provided.

How to Request a Return

  • To initiate a return, please contact us at hello@detailing.co.nz with your order details.
  • Once your return is accepted, we will send you a pre-paid return shipping label and instructions on how to send your item back.
  • Items sent back to us without prior approval will not be accepted.

Damages and Issues

  • Please inspect your order upon receipt. If your item is defective, damaged, or incorrect, contact us immediately so we can assess the issue and resolve it promptly.
  • Under the Consumer Guarantees Act, goods must be of acceptable quality, fit for purpose, and free from defects. If your product does not meet these standards, you are entitled to a remedy.

Exceptions / Non-Returnable Items

  • Some items cannot be returned, including perishable goods (food, flowers, plants), personalized or custom products, and personal care items (beauty or skincare products).
  • We do not accept returns of hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases.
  • Sale items and gift cards are also non-returnable.

Exchanges

  • To exchange an item, please return the original product for a refund, and then make a new purchase for your preferred item once the return has been processed.

Refunds

  • We will notify you once we have received and inspected your returned item.
  • If your return is approved, a refund will be issued to your original payment method within 10 business days.
  • Please note that processing times depend on your bank or credit card provider.
  • If more than 15 business days have passed since the refund was approved, contact us at hello@detailing.co.nz.

Legal Rights

  • Our goods come with guarantees under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, which means you are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund if the goods are faulty or do not meet quality standards.
  • This policy does not affect your statutory rights under New Zealand law.
